Slowing down has changed my life, living in gratitude has set me free

My dad's passing on November 10th, 2009 had a monumental impact on me. What do you do when the only person in this world who "sees" you is gone? I felt lost, abandoned, and scared. Despite being blessed to have so many loving people around me, during those moments, I felt like my life had lost its purpose. I realized that many of the things that I did and wanted to do were connected to my father. While there was definitely a part of me that wanted to run, hide, and even die, the other part of me knew this thinking wouldn't serve me or his … [Read more...]

Day 15: Feb 28th, 2011 – Feel Good

"We seem to be going through a period of nostalgia, and everyone seems to think yesterday was better than today. I don't think it was, and I would advise you not to wait ten years before admitting today was great. If you're hung up on nostalgia, pretend today is yesterday and just go out and have one hell of a time. " ~Art Buchwald Day 15: Feel Good The picture above is part of my vision board. It reminds me to live in the now, to have fun, and not take life so seriously all the time. It reminds me that its ok to be silly and childlike. That life is perfectly … [Read more...]
Day 14: Feb 27th, 2011 – Yoga for Oneness
Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted -- in body, mind, and heart -- and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow -- or we begin to flow more in our lives. ~Cybele Tomlinso My gift for day 14: Offering my Yoga practice to God These days my intention has been to "flow" with the day to see where it takes me. … [Read more...]
Day 6: Feb 19th, 2011

Here is the way I treated myself on Valentines day... My gift for day 6: Ingredients: honey, a lil sugar, & an intention: Set the intention. It could be something such as to "attract more sweetness" or "to give my body love". Allow yourself to be present. Be gentle. The intention is to send love to every part of this process. When blending the honey with a lil sugar, send love. When applying the scrub to your face and body, send love. Rinse in shower and dry yourself off gently. If you use lotion or oil, lather yourself as if you were a goddess or a princess... Be … [Read more...]
