“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, … [Read more...]
Slowing down has changed my life, living in gratitude has set me free

My dad's passing on November 10th, 2009 had a monumental impact on me. What do you do when the only person in this world who "sees" you is gone? I felt lost, abandoned, and scared. Despite being blessed to have so many loving people around me, during those moments, I felt like my life had lost its purpose. I realized that many of the things that I did and wanted to do were connected to my father. While there was definitely a part of me that wanted to run, hide, and even die, the other part of me knew this thinking wouldn't serve me or his … [Read more...]
Day 22: March 7th, 2011 – God’s Will…
"I just want to do God's will. And he's allowed me to go to the mountain. And I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land! I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land." ~Martin Luther King Day 22: God's Will I shared part of my day with my beautiful sister. We did Yoga in the morning and then we went to our favorite cafe in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We spoke of our plans, our hopes, and our dreams. We spoke of how we want to continue growing and learning. We want to do "God's will. … [Read more...]
Day 14: Feb 27th, 2011 – Yoga for Oneness
Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted -- in body, mind, and heart -- and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow -- or we begin to flow more in our lives. ~Cybele Tomlinso My gift for day 14: Offering my Yoga practice to God These days my intention has been to "flow" with the day to see where it takes me. … [Read more...]
Day 13: Feb 26th, 2011 – Gratitude for Rosa and Angel (my parents)

"There is no such thing as gratitude unexpressed. If it is unexpressed, it is plain, old-fashioned ingratitude." ~Robert Brault My gift for Day 13: Gratitude I spent the day contemplating my parents. I have learned and keep learning so much from them. One of the most important gifts I have received from them is love... not just love from them to me, but love for God, love for all things. I feel truly blessed to have had a father who was a dreamer til the day he took his last breath. He loved people, food, music, and thrived on his connections to others. He was always … [Read more...]
Day 11: Feb 24th, 2011 – I am…

"I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment, and life's greatest rewards are reserved for those who demonstrate a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, it is still the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.” ~ Anthony Robbins Day 11: The gift of love and affirmations. My spiritual guides have come forth with important messages the last few days which can be summed up in three … [Read more...]
Day 5: Feb 18th, 2011
Another beautiful Spring day in NYC. My gift today was a walk with my childhood friend who is now a Spiritual Leader in the community. I'm so grateful that we have been able to reconnect after so many years. We went to my one of my favorite cafes... my treat. The conversation and the walk set the tone for the rest of the day. It feels good to be seen and understood on this level. It is a blessing to have a safe space to speak candidly about faith, love, and God/Universe/The One... I'm humbled and grateful. Thank you, Thank you! Namaste, RA … [Read more...]
