"There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again." Elizabeth Lawrence Day 28: Yoga and Being Light: It was my turn again to teach my 75 minute class. Instead of over preparing like the last time, I focused on having fun and really truly being in the moment with my piers. The result was a much stronger class. The feedback from my piers was positive. Namaste! Feeling the magic of being light and sharing laughter with others... What a blessing! My gift of music: Somewhere Over … [Read more...]
Day 23: March 8th, 2011- A day of magic and blessings
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, … [Read more...]

Day 17: March 2nd 1011 – Angel

"No one who achieves success does so without acknowledging the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude." ~Author Unknown My gift for Day 17: I visited a local center for the elderly with the intention to volunteer my time by offering Laughter Yoga/Yoga. I have been contemplating entering this place for months now, but the time hadn't seemed right until yesterday. As soon as I entered this place, I felt like I was home. The place was warm and inviting and I was welcomed like family. The woman I spoke to seemed excited about the idea … [Read more...]
Day 14: Feb 27th, 2011 – Yoga for Oneness
Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted -- in body, mind, and heart -- and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow -- or we begin to flow more in our lives. ~Cybele Tomlinso My gift for day 14: Offering my Yoga practice to God These days my intention has been to "flow" with the day to see where it takes me. … [Read more...]
Day 13: Feb 26th, 2011 – Gratitude for Rosa and Angel (my parents)

"There is no such thing as gratitude unexpressed. If it is unexpressed, it is plain, old-fashioned ingratitude." ~Robert Brault My gift for Day 13: Gratitude I spent the day contemplating my parents. I have learned and keep learning so much from them. One of the most important gifts I have received from them is love... not just love from them to me, but love for God, love for all things. I feel truly blessed to have had a father who was a dreamer til the day he took his last breath. He loved people, food, music, and thrived on his connections to others. He was always … [Read more...]
Day 8: Feb 21st, 2011
Yesterday my sister and I met at our favorite cafe in Williamsburg. She started her 29 day challenge on Valentine's Day as well and is writing her journal entries on Facebook's "The Gratitude Movement". We both agreed that 29 days of giving feels more like we are the ones receiving instead of being the givers. My gift for Day 7: Sharing that precious time with my sister. We are both enjoying this process and feel grateful for the journey thus far. We can't wait to see what the rest of the month will bring. On behalf of The Perez Sisters, enjoy this feel good … [Read more...]
At the end what matters most….

Day 7: Feb 20th, 2011 You wanna experience magic? Start looking inward... Experience yourself. Sit in silence. Go out for a beautiful walk alone in the morning or the evening. Observe the nature around you and be grateful for their gifts. This is life. This is real. This is living. "At the end what matters the most is not the money, our material items, or fancy job title. It is our connections with others, family, loved ones, people you meet in the street, etc." When you realize this, your world changes. … [Read more...]
Day 3: Feb 16th, 2011
Today I was asked by a friend to check out a computer connection that didn't seem to be working properly. I initially thought I wasn't the best person for the task since I'm not very techy, but I decided it couldn't hurt to try. I said a lil prayer for guidance. I checked out the PC and tried to connect a plug into the computer that upon the first try didn't seem to fit. I put the piece down on the table and almost walked away from it, but an inner voice asked me to try it again. I did and it worked! I solved the computer connection problem and was rewarded with the biggest … [Read more...]
The Invitation… Do it for 29 days starting Feb 14th and Help Change Your Life

29 Gifts: How Giving Can Change Your Life What if we could counteract some of the hatred in the world so often expressed in bitter words and acts of violence with LOVE? Starting Feb 14th, I will officially join the movement called "29 Gifts", where I will publicly share my journal entries of "giving from the heart" for 29 days. For those unfamiliar, 29 Gifts is a book written by Cami Walker, whom after a month of being married to the man of her dreams learns she has multiple sclerosis. Shortly after this diagnosis, the MS starts taking a strong hold on Cami's body and her mind. … [Read more...]
