Day 28: March 13th, 2011 – Being Light

"There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again." Elizabeth Lawrence Day 28:  Yoga and Being Light: It was my turn again to teach my 75 minute class.  Instead of over preparing like the last time, I focused on having fun and really truly being in the moment with my piers.  The result was a much stronger class.  The feedback from my piers was positive. Namaste! Feeling the magic of being light and sharing laughter with others... What a blessing! My gift of music: Somewhere Over … [Read more...]

Day 23: March 8th, 2011- A day of magic and blessings

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, … [Read more...]

Slowing down has changed my life, living in gratitude has set me free

daddy and me10

My dad's passing on November 10th, 2009 had a monumental impact on me.  What do you do when the only person in this world who "sees" you is gone? I felt lost, abandoned, and scared.  Despite being blessed to have so many loving people around me, during those moments, I felt like my life had lost its purpose.  I realized that many of the things that I did and wanted to do were connected to my father. While there was definitely a part of me that wanted to run, hide, and even die, the other part of me knew this thinking wouldn't serve me or his … [Read more...]

"No one who achieves success does so without acknowledging the help of others.  The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude."  ~Author Unknown My gift for Day 17: I visited a local center for the elderly with the intention to volunteer my time by offering Laughter Yoga/Yoga.  I have been contemplating entering this place for months now, but the time hadn't seemed right until yesterday.  As soon as I entered this place, I felt like I was home.  The place was warm and inviting and I was welcomed like family. The woman I spoke to seemed excited about the idea … [Read more...]

Day 14: Feb 27th, 2011 – Yoga for Oneness

Yoga is about clearing away whatever is in us that prevents our living in the most full and whole way. With yoga, we become aware of how and where we are restricted -- in body, mind, and heart -- and how gradually to open and release these blockages. As these blockages are cleared, our energy is freed. We start to feel more harmonious, more at one with ourselves. Our lives begin to flow -- or we begin to flow more in our lives. ~Cybele Tomlinso My gift for day 14: Offering my Yoga practice to God These days my intention has been to "flow" with the day to see where it takes me.  … [Read more...]

Confessions of a Soulfuldancer pt 2

What is a Soulfuldancer? A Soulfuldancer is a lover of life, of dance, of love, a lover of the present moment. Soulfuldancing is communing with your divine self, your higher self. It's when ego disappears and you become one with the divine. It is bliss. It is joy. It is peace. It is all knowing. It is meditation. It is creativity. It is oneness. After my first session with Rosina, many realizations started to surface for me. The reason I've been afraid of spiritual communication is because spirits have been trying to communicate with me my whole life. A witch doctor once told my … [Read more...]

…I’m afraid a spirit is going to talk to me

Artwork by Soul Connection Network

"Is there a reason for your visit today my dear?" inquired Rosina, my Spiritual Adviser. "Yes, there is... I'm afraid.  Well, um I know this sounds silly, but I am afraid a spirit is going to talk to me." As I heard myself utter one of my most private confessions, I felt a sense of relief.  For most of my life, I have been afraid to sleep alone at night.  Over the years, I have asked family, friends, lovers, and boyfriends to stay with me the night.  I have lost count of how many times I have slept with the lights on. Why was I so afraid to sleep in a dark room?  Well, it all … [Read more...]
